The Bridge Staff

In my almost thirty years of full-time ministry I have never seen God move so quickly to assemble as outstanding a staff and group of leaders as I have seen Him assemble here at The Bridge. Not only is each member ouf our leadership team skilled and gifted at what they do, but their heart for the Lord and for the people matches their gifting. We are indeed blessed to have such a dedicated group of people leading the various departments of our church. - Bo.

Bo Weaver
Senior Pastor

Bo has been in full time ministry for over 25 years, serving all but one of those years as a senior pastor. "My greatest joy is seeing lives transformed through a growing relationship with Christ based on a sound understanding of God's Word. I am most at home teaching the Bible and leading a church where people are growing spiritually.

Jannie Weaver
Prayer Coordinator

Agnes Sanford once said, "...prayer is not a matter of getting what we want the most.  Prayer is a matter of giving ourselves to God and learning His laws, so that He can do through us what He wants the most."  It is my privilege to coordinate the Prayer Teams here at The Bridge and to encourage every believer to exercise their covenant rights in accessing the Throne of Grace!

Gary Dawson
Director of Community Projects

My desire is to be part of a church that encourages everyone to use their gifts in service to the Lord, and by going beyond the walls of the church to have an impact on the community. I love it when the church is truly a force in the world. I also love seeing men grow as disciples of the Lord.

Johnny Walker
Director of Worship and Media

Johnny Walker is our Director of Worship and Media, (and yes, that is his real name). Johnny is a native of Miami, Florida and has been involved in music since he was very young. He enjoys playing an array of musical instruments and singing and arranging vocal parts. He has been in full-time ministry since 1984 and was ordained in 1992. Johnny has been the worship leader in many different churches, but he feels most at home here at The Bridge. He met his beautiful wife, Julie while attending Louisiana State University and they were married in 1986. Johnny and Julie have two wonderful sons, Jordan and Caleb, who are both involved in the youth worship team.

Jesse and Emily Carpenter
Young Adult Pastors

Xenos is the name of the young adult ministry at The Bridge. Xenos is a Greek word that means foreigner, or sojourner. The Bible teaches that this world is not our true home - that we are just passing through. It is the goal of Xenos to help young adults live in such a way as to make a maximum impact on this world as we pass through - helping people to know and love God and to make Him known in the world. Prior to coming to The Bridge, Jesse and Emily were involved in ministry at the Columbus Vineyard and served as missionaries in Grenada.

Shannon Whitaker
Children's Pastor

Shannon Whitaker has joyfully served as a pastor to children for the last 20 years, 18 of which she served alongside her parents, Dr. Mike and Colleen Murray at the church they founded, Love and Faith Christian Center in Cincinnati. Her passion is finding fun, creative and relevant ways to demonstrate to children just how much God loves them more than words can say, He longs to be their constant companion, and He created them to make a difference in this world for Him! Through fresh praise and worship, drama, cool media, puppets and interactive messages; her passion is to see kids go big for God as they come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Whitney & Ali Clayton
Executive Pastor and Upper Elementary Children's Director

Whitney and Ali are leading the newest ministry at the Bridge, The Crossing for fourth through sixth grade students. They are both passionate about seeing lives impacted by the truth of the gospel explained in the Bible. Ali started working at the Bridge in 2006; she was a part of the launch team and worked with the church for three years before she married Whitney in May of 2009. They worked together ministering in Louisville, Kentucky, while finishing their undergraduate degrees from Boyce Bible College. In November of 2010 Whitney and Ali joined the staff of the Bridge. Whitney is the Executive Pastor and Ali is working as the Upper Elementary Children's Director. They are both excited about what God has been doing at the Bridge and are honored to be a part of the great team working together for the glory of God.

Becky Rennirt
Pre-school and Nursery Director

In 2007 I retired from a career of 30 years in public education as a teacher and administrator. God blessed me with wonderful opportunities including earning a doctorate in curriculum and instruction and spending five years as a school superintendent. But, for some reason, I knew there was something else I had to do.  I spent another two years in a preschool through grade two elementary school where I fell in love with the early learning process. Little did I know that God was preparing me to serve at The Bridge! I retired again in 2009, but God isn’t finished with me yet!

Did you know that children have the ability to learn more from birth to age five than at any other stage in their lives? It is so important to us that our children learn to read and to calculate numbers, and those are certainly necessary skills. But, how much more important is it that they learn that God made them, He loves them, and He has a purpose for their lives!  In the Babies in the Boat program, that is what we will be learning every week as we support your efforts as your child’s first teacher.

Cheri Stewart
Volunteer Coordinator

After serving The Bridge as Director of Children's Ministry for the first year, Cheri now serves as Volunteer Coordinator. Her passion is to see people fruitful and fulfilled in ministry by helping to match their passion and gifting with the appropriate area of service.

Linda Bode
Finance Manager/Administrative Assistant

Linda serves in the area of finances and oversees contributions, accounts payable, budgets and human resources. She also assists the Pastor with administrative duties when needed. It is her passion to see that the income of the church is used in a correct manner to advance the Kingdom of God. She worked for Pastor Bo at his former church for over 17 years and feels extremely blessed to be working with him again. “It is exciting to see The Bridge grow so rapidly and to work with such an awesome staff.”
